Tessa Gibbs, FNP-C

Tessa Gibbs is a certified family nurse practitioner, and she brings 8 years of experience in interventional pain management to the practice. She hails from Southeast Texas but moved to Austin in 2002 to attend The University of Texas at Austin. Tessa obtained both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing degrees at UT Austin. Prior to returning to graduate school, she worked for 4 years as a labor and delivery RN in a high-risk obstetric unit at a local hospital. It was at the bedside of laboring mothers that she realized the vital role a healthcare provider can play in comforting patients and helping to ease their physical as well as emotional pain. Tessa returned to UT in 2011, graduating with honors in her master's nursing program in 2014. Her daughter was born on her final day of classes in graduate school, and she is eternally grateful for her professors who excused her absence that day. On the weekends, she can be found on the sidelines of her daughter’s soccer games and exploring the outdoors with her daughter and husband. Tessa is a certified Advanced Open Water SCUBA diver and has logged more than 500 dives since obtaining her certification at age 17. She looks forward to introducing her daughter to snorkeling and SCUBA diving this summer.
